Seattle is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation and the Wallingford neighborhood is one of its most iconic neighborhoods. Tucked away between Green Lake to the north and the historic Lake Union waterfront to the south, Wallingford has retained the historic feel of the past while adapting to the needs of today.
The Smith & Burns, slated to open in early December of 2015, has seamlessly met this challenge. Built by Mack Urban, one of the leading developers on the West Coast, Smith & Burns Apartment Homes offer a true community for individuals that want to enjoy the lifestyle of a small town, while still having close access to all that Seattle offers.
Just minutes from the downtown tech center, Smith & Burns complex is equipped with social spaces to encourage a balanced lifestyle and enable inhabitants to connect with their neighbors.
Each resident has access to all of the social spaces Mack Urban has designed into this ultra modern secured community:
- Rooftop deck – equipped with barbecues, fire pit and picturesque views
- Studio Art Lounge for satisfying your creative side
- Fitness center
- Community library
- Secured parking and bike storage
And if all of that isn’t enough, the downtown Wallingford neighborhood beckons. A short stroll away is bustling 45th Street, the heart and soul of of the neighborhood. Dotted with historic and iconic restaurants, stores and theaters, you will want to explore every nook and cranny. A night on the town might start with a visit to Dick’s Burgers, famous in Seattle for generations, and a movie at The Guild Theater, a two-screen cinema originally built in 1919. Top off the evening with a nightcap at Murphy’s Pub or indulge your sweet tooth with ice cream at Molly Moon’s.
Constructed with a sustainable conscience and targeting LEED certification, Smith & Burns was paired with local found objects, salvaged materials, and custom art. With a national reputation for the adaptive re-use of significant historic buildings, Mack Urban has gone to considerable lengths to preserve Wallingford’s style and history. Community artists were hired to create works of art and incorporate some of the same materials from the original site. It’s our way of paying respect to the old part of the neighborhood while integrating it with new changes. We’ve designed the exterior of Smith & Burns with a beautiful hand-laid brick wall to match the look and feel of 45th Street, while maintaining the integrity of Wallingford’s rich history. Our mission was to be a part of the DNA of our community, to move forward with the growing change and demand and yet keep its history and character intact.
We realize one of the things that makes this trendy enclave so great are the people that live here. If you’d like to apply for an apartment, please, click here to get started. We would love to have you!
